1. The Sefton Church Spirit

This spine-chilling photograph was taken in 1999, inside Sefton Church, England. According to the photographer, there was only one other person inside the ancient building but he was standing on the other side of the church when this picture was taken. Many believe the apparition to be that of a former church minister.

2. Myrtles Plantation Ghost

The house standing on Myrtle Plantation is reportedly home to at least 12 ghosts, and the most famous of them being Chloe (whose spirit was captured in the photograph above). The legend goes that she was a slave girl owned by Clark Woodruff, who was brutally murdered after poisoning Woodruff’s wife and two young daughters and is said to haunt the plantation to this day.

Denise Russell took this photo of her grandmother during a family picnic in 1997, just before her death. No one noticed the man standing behind Denise’s grandmother at the time until years later while looking through old family photographs; they finally recognized him to be Denise’s grandfather, who had died back in 1987. Ten years before the picture had even been taken.

4. Toys ‘R’ Us Ghost

This infra-red photograph was taken during a paranormal investigation for the TV show That’s Incredible, at a Toys R’ Us in Sunnyvale, California. The man leaning against the shelves in the background was not seen with the naked eye at any time during the night long vigil. Other shots taken at the same time with high-speed film showed no trace of him.

5. Tantallon Castle Apparition

Taken in May 2008, at the Scottish castle, appears to show a man in period costume peering out of a barred window. No mannequins or costumed guides are employed at the castle, and three photographic specialists have confirmed that no digital trickery was used on the photograph, which continues to baffle paranormal experts to this day.

8. St Thomas’s Hospital Ghost

During a ghost hunt in an abandoned hospital in Stockport, UK, paranormal investigator Jamie-Leigh Brown captured on camera what appears to be the ghostly figure of a doctor lurking in one of the hallways. Brown only reviewed her photographs after the ghost hunt was cut short when her group fled the hospital after hearing strange footsteps from the empty floor above.

Captured by members of the Cheshire Paranormal Society took this fantastic picture on Packhorse Bridge, Caergwrle, Wales. It’s believed a number of ghosts haunt this bridge possibly in connection with a former burial ground nearby, for which the bridge was the entrance.

This eerie photograph was taken 1985, during a meeting of the Masons in the 14th-century venue, which had once also been used as a prison. Standing in the corner is a tall figure in robes. There were over a 100 Mason’s in attendance that night who all say there was no one in robes at the event.

This creepy holiday snap of an unsuspecting tourist at the Grand Canyon was taken sometime in the 80s. The ghostly image depicts what looks like a really tall “man” in a dark cloak, hiding in the bushes directly behind the tourist perched precariously close to the edge of the canyon.

Taken in the now abandoned Allen County Tuberculosis Hospital in Ohio, the image above was discovered on a photo sharing website. None of the additional pictures taken during the visit contained any other evidence of shadow figures or paranormal activity.

Tony Dooley, the manager noticed the specter when he checked the cameras in the morning. “I came down and saw a glass smashed on the floor, so I was instantly suspicious and went to check the CCTV and found it has stopped working.”

Mitch Glover took this photo at the Neuville-St Vaast German war cemetery near Arras, in northern France. The pale shape seen in the photo is thought to be the ghost of a Scottish soldier. “It looks like they are holding something in one arm,” Mitch’s mother said. “Whether it’s a rifle or something one friend said it looks like he’s stood on guard over them.”

Taken outside an inn located in Garden Grove, Iowa, the above photograph appears to have captured the spirit of a World War I soldier. The picture was snapped by a paranormal investigator who was participating in a ghost hunt at the inn.

On Halloween night, 2015, members of the Sydney South West Paranormal Investigators (SSWPI) of Sydney, Australia were investigating St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery in West Sydney. As the investigators were taking a lot of photographs they heard a whining sound of unknown origin. Upon examining the photos later, they found what looks like the ghostly image of a man near one of the gravestones running from the investigators.

This eerie location dates from 1866 and was the home to many dangerous criminals including most recently Charles Manson. The prisons long and dark history includes murders, suicides, violence, and executions and is well known for its extreme paranormal activity. At the time the above photograph was taken Polly claims she was alone in the room and was surprised to see the shadow person captured on film.
